Inclusive communication in multilingual sport settings

This training pill helps coaches and facilitators communicate effectively with participants who have different language levels and cultural backgrounds. Drawing from the project’s finding that language is the strongest repeated barrier across all partner countries, it introduces practical strategies such as visual explanation, physical demonstration, repetition, use of key words, and peer buddy support. It also covers how to check for understanding without causing embarrassment and explains how poor communication leads to exclusion, lower confidence, and disengagement. The pill moves from theory to immediate practice, giving facilitators simple tools they can apply from their very first session.
