This training pill explains how sport acts as a powerful tool for social inclusion, belonging, and community connection for migrants, refugees, and host-national participants. It shows how sport creates opportunities for friendship, trust-building, teamwork, and mutual respect, while also highlighting that inclusion does not happen automatically and must be intentionally supported by coaches, clubs, and organisations. The pill introduces the main benefits of inclusive sport environments, supported by practical examples and key messages emerging from the Equal Play research. Its aim is to help facilitators and sport stakeholders understand why sport matters in integration processes and how they can strengthen its positive social impact.
